What Trump proposes is not unconstitutional.

Article I, Section 8, Clause 4, gives Congress the power to establish uniform rules for naturalization, meaning the several states may not have their own rules. Since to be able to be naturalized requires admission into the United States, Congress may create a rule denoting whomever may be naturalized, ergo, limiting whomever Congress wishes to admit immigration into the United States. Since Congress represents We the People, if we so choose to limit those to be admitted, we can elect representatives and senators to Congress who will vote accordingly, using the power granted to Congress in the fore mentioned article, section, and clause.

If that doesn’t fly, shut down all immigration.

Also note that this is not a religious issue. It’s a security issue no matter what you may say it is based upon. The United States Constitution is not a suicide pact, and unless you properly identify, clarify, and label the issues involved here, political correctness will twist it into one.

American immigration policy before 1965 allowed for mostly European immigrants. That policy was designed to retain our culture. Was that wrong?

I don't think so. We need to retain our way of life, and I think that includes our culture, which most definitely IS NOT based on sharia law nor is it Muslim in nature.

The Donald is indeed an artist at work; a master of the deal, if you will. Any good real estate mogul knows you start out asking for a price way over what you'll settle for. This may be the beginnings of what he wants to "settle" for...what a master of the obvious, even before it happens. http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/08/politics/visa-waiver-program-house/index.htm

I had to take a negotiating class at my work. They referred to this as "anchoring". Call it what you will, but the position of this "anchor" can greatly impact your outcome. Nobody believes that car dealerships set their MSRP so high out of necessity...
