And the board of governors is tasked by the US Congress to make the former USPO and now USPS into something it was never designed to be, a self supporting non-govt entity. It is as if the USDA were tasked with suddenly making it on own revenue. Or your local school.

Yep, that’s all part of the MAGA plan to weaken and destroy the Federal government and replace it’s functions with privately owned businesses.

Been that way since 1970. USPS needs to be completely privatized with the ability to compete in pricing and services offered or made totally government funded like Tinker or other government agencies. 6 day delivery should be abolished regardless although FedEx and UPS are doing it now too in limited capacity.

My understanding is the USPS is supposed to be self-funding, but the ability to function as such is hampered by mandates placed on it.

My regular delivery guy is apparently on vacation during this holiday. Probably deer hunting.
But anyway everything is showing up about 4 hours later than usual and I’m getting a bunch of other people’s mail. Go team!

Unless you're talking about international shipments, nothing stays in the system for 6 days unless there are other issues(damages, po boxes, bad addresses, etc)

I am a retired USPS worker, here is the problem in a nutshell. They are giving priority to Amazon packages...period. By law 1st class mail is not to be intentionally delayed...but it is daily, because they are critically dependent on Amazon for revenue to even function, and Amazon DOES have standards they monitor and USPS is required to maintain them. The standards the USPS are required to fulfill BY LAW are ignored daily. The rocket scientists that run the USPS ignored the internet, smartphones, and email and just kept building BILLIONS of dollars worth of machinery to sort magazines and letters which dwindled to almost nothing nowadays. Meanwhile we have this MASSIVE network of machinery and plants that need to kiss Amazon's ass while the average postal customer gets screwed. Coming or going my packages now stop in Tulsa for about a week before proceeding. The last 2 Priority packages I Paid extra to arrive in 3 days took 12 and 15. Your priority pkg with your meds in it will NOT be delivered on Sunday but your 2 dollar piece of crap from Amazon will.

As someone who works on these machines I can concur with this statement 100%.
