I was thinking of going just to look around, but you guys have convinced me that I should save my money. Maybe the April 2011 show will be better (and maybe I'll be the solo winner of the Mega Millions and the Powerball lotteries the same week!)

On the 3rd Reich stuff, you have to be extremely careful because there are tons of fakes out there. Fake everything....hats, visors, pistols, uniforms, silverware, daggers, etc. Really, how many dinner service sets did Der Fuhrer really have??????

LOL! I was thinking the same thing! I ran across two different vendors with silverware with all of the correct "AH" markings. I've also seen sets online (with reputable dealers), so I got to wondering how much silverware Hitler must have really had?

There was lots of cool Third Reich stuff, but I just like to look - and as you said, the market is now flooded with fakes. Guy was selling interesting photographs of different Germans doing whatever. Asked him where they came from, and it was from some guy in Moscow and they were "captures" - had all kinds of stamps and writing in Russian on the back....but who would have carried a studio photo of Adolf Galland around Russia with them? Did have a couple of cool Bf109 and Me110 ground shots though - would have made neat bookmarks. Goes for K98 rifles, too; the Russians learned long ago how to fake "SS" stamps to get more money for captures.....

There were two booths selling Fenix lights; one to the left of the front door as you walk in (I bought mine from them - got two PD30's for $120 out the door, including free batteries), and one about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way to the lower level, towards the rear of the rows. You can't miss this one - they had 6 or so Fenix lights on strobe; it was annoying as he'll trying to talk to those guys. LOL

Yeah - The one on the west is where I got my ITP but their prices on Ultra Fire were sky high so I didn' t even bother asking about their Fenix. Their display was cool but they should have put prices on everything. It was annoying to have to ask the lady working back there to keep coming to the display for help.

One final gripe. If you're a vendor and you come to a gunshow with 2-5 tables worth of stuff, get a display or something - don't stack everything as high and close to the edge as you can and then put "do not touch without permission" signs on it every 6 inches.

Same thing applies to the antique and $10,000 collector shotgun crowd when rhey lay guns on their table with the same sign and leave them sticking out 3 feet into the aisles.

They are pricing the show out of buisness.

+1 What is it, $120 a table this year?

I've never cared at all for Joe Whatamother. He used to be the Treasurer for the Indian Territory Gun Collectors Association years ago and part of his responsability was to put on the show. Then all of a sudden one year, Joe owned the show and later on the ITGCA was even removed as the associated club while Joe created his own club (that you had to pay yearly dues to in order to have the privilage to join in order to be allowed to setup his tables for free in order to get an early (10am) setup pass.

Whataracket is what it should be called.

+1 one on that, way too many guns stuck out past the edge of the tables. Just asking for someone to take their whole table out.

That gun show, just like every gun show was a joke... All it had was extremely over priced guns and old junk... Every gun I saw there was a total rip off... I wonder if these dealers actually sell that stuff at those ridiculous prices??? I guess there are some ignorant people that come through there that they can rip off... One guy had a USED TRP for $1450.00! You can get brand new ones on GB for $1000.00, and then the lady selling the 3.5" RIA 1911 for $530.00 that you can buy online for $340.00 shipped... I just love going to the shows and laughing at the vendors prices lol...

We went to Wagoner for Michele's great aunt's golden wedding anniversary. We talked about staying in the Sapulpa house and going today, but just came home instead.

Makes me sad to hear it sucked. I remember the first time I walked in to the big Tulsa show everyone talked about. I bet my jaw was on the floor for an hour.

Never been to a Tulsa gun show and after reading all the posts, I don't think I will attend one there. I was at the Claude Hall gun show earlier in the month in OKC and noticed a change in the attitudes of some vendors. There was one guy who has a tactical display at every gun show I've been to here and I go to look at some of the accessories and guns. It looks like he deals mainly to law enforcement as its mostly vests and police/swat stuff. I can't remember the name but I'll know it when I see it next time I go to a gun show in OKC. My son and I were looking at an AR and there was a sign that said "Please ask for assistance before picking up firearms." He had a blonde lady with him and my son wanted to look at the AR so we asked and she gave us permission to pick the weapon up. A security wire must not have been on very well as it came loose and the guy came running over saying "Hey, can't you read the sign"? The lady told him we asked for permission and he was not very friendly. We walked away, embarrassed and felt like common criminals. Needless to say I will never even come close to his table again! I went to another booth and wanted to buy a Vietnam era issue alice pack and they wanted $30 for it. I've seen it for $10 at some places. I mainly went to get ammo from my favorite vendor Aztec Archery but they were not there. After about an hour, we left. Just didn't seem fun any more.
