We need to consider that no one has succeeded simply on their own. If you have enough ammo to have a surplus, then you probably had the moral support of your friends and employer. Your friend have children or know someone that has children that he may need to protect someday? Share with him, shame on you, it is for the children!!

Ain't my children!...Any idiot can buy his own ammo...can buy his own tires..can buy his own whatever..

Now if I gift some ammo I gift some ammo...but I'm not a wholesaler..and I'm not responsible for the troubles of the world either...I maintain a modest stash...I do not consider it a 'surplus'

Honestly..it isn't that I'm greedy..it's just that I only care so much that he is too tight to pay currant prices for his ammo needs...and 'so much' ain't very much.

I had a friend that sort of the same thing almost happened.
I was telling him about a deal I had made about 8 years ago on some .223. Managed to score about 3K when it was 99/K and I still had some of it squirreled away.

After a weekend of shooting, he asked me if I could sell him some of my .223.
I said sure and gave him a price that was below market.
But, but, but, you only paid 99 bucks for it.
Yeah, but it will cost 269 to replace it.
He understood.

Of course, we share ammo when shooting, and I don't count how many rounds friends shoot.

Are you sure your friend isn't a closet liberal and Obama supporter? I mean, you know, the ammo rich should give their fair share to the ammo unprepared.

Dave

My thought is this. You made an investment many years ago and now you are reaping the rewards. It is no different than making an investment in Stocks, Bonds or CD's. He had the same opportunity but for whatever reason didn't do it. You deserve to reap the rewards of your investment.

Yeah, exactly. However I thought inspecting a horses teeth was to estimate age. I don't know, I hate horses. :D

Z71, you didn't build that on your own. i mean, if you built a successful ammo stash, you didn't do that. there were roads and cash registers and other people who helped you build that stash...

btw, we like smilies:wink2::patriot::wave::thumb:
