1949 Ford flat head V8, bought it for $25.00 with a blown engine, bought a $50.00 engine from a junk yard and did the engine swap in a friends back yard. 6 guys on a 4x4 and a chain. Drove it for 2 years then bought a 56 Pontiac convertable.

'55 rusted out Chevy that I got when I was 15. Paid 50 bucks for it, and it served me well. Moved up to a '59 Ford for $150 the next year and that thing would pass anything on the road. Good times.

I turned 16 way back in 1962 and my first car was purchased with $150. After the purchase, we had to have the second gear in the transmission replaced. I drove that for two years, but when I went off to college (for what turned out to be just one year), Dad insisted I have a better car. Turns out that car needed a major overhaul within 6 months. I should have kept this one, although this image is NOT of the one I owned.

1954 Ford Customliner 2-door (even in the same color as mine, except that the room on mine was the same color as the rest of the car.)

Had a 1992 Dodge Stealth painted corvette yellow, custom wheels, exhaust, and about a $10,000 system. Here is a picture of it with me and my wife on our high school graduation day. I was picking her up to go to the ceremony. Oh how time flies!!

Not my actual car. Mine didn't have the chrome along the side that I can remember. But it is nearly the same in color, except mine was without the lighter green roof. 1954 Ford 2 door. (Also, no white sidewall tires.)

Bought it in 1962 when I turned 16 for $150 and then had to have a second gear replaced. Drove it for two years with no problems, but Dad was concerned that it wouldn't be dependable for traveling from the Panhandle to Norman for college. (This vehicle was followed by a 1960 Simca station wagon and then a 1960 Ford Falcon.)

My first ride was a 1974 Dodge Dart. I wish I had digital pictures of that thing. My stepdad and I took the vinyl top off of it and had it painted metallic green. We put some sharp aluminum 5 point wheels on it and it looked sharp. It came with a 318 that we immediately replaced with a 360. We slapped an Edelbrach intake on it with a Carter 4 barrel and some hooker headers. That car would MOVE. A part of me wishes that I’d have held onto it.
