You keep mentioning hatred...but youre using that word very loosely. It doesnt mean what you are inferring it means. You are equating intolerance of a persons behavior with hatred. Thats not what hatred means.

The question wasnt directed to me, but ill answer it anyway. No i wouldnt divorce her, since i dont believe in divorce (what God has joined together, let no man tear apart), but yes...i would absolutely still believe in a God that would send her to hell. Why should my belief in God change just because im now married?

Wow...then I'm glad I don't believe in your God. Sounds like a pretty hateful guy. Maybe you should join ISIS. Seems like you have something in common.

There was no woe is me to be found in any of my posts. You said multiple times i was being hateful, and i assumed you meant that was the point i had "proven" for you.

I'll give you want you want to know. My religion is superior to all other religions on Earth because it is the one and only religion founded by Jesus Christ. Every Protestant denomination can be traced back to an individual other than Christ. Mormons (Smith), Methodists (Wesley), Lutherans, Calvinists, etc. Other Christian denominations may have parts of the truth, but only Catholicism contains all the truths revealed to man by God. Christ said to St Peter that he was to be the rock upon Christ would build his Church and even the gates of hell would not prevail against it. There can only be one truth in the world. 2 + 2 is always 4. If one religion teaches something is wrong in the eyes of God, and the other teaches something is acceptable in the eyes of God...they cant both be right. Catholicism is the one religion which can trace its origins to Christ...as His Church, it can never be wrong in matters of Faith and Morals.

Does this mean the 1 billion Muslims, 1 billion Hindus, 1 billion buddists and scores of other people of faith are condemned to hell? You and I have grown up in a western, Christian dominant nation as the societal norm just as other people across the world have grown up with another religion as their societal norm. Most of these peoples religions help them to be good, moral people so the idea that these people are all condemned to hell again defies the idea of a loving God. Like what you just said, their religions teach that their way is the only way also. I don't know the answer but the absolutism you speak of just makes Christianity sound like any other religion across the world.

So much for serious discussion. I give you my opinion and all of a sudden i should join ISIS. My original opinion of you has been confirmed.

Man, I started this thread truly hoping to get insightful opinions. I have to honestly say, all except a couple of you "religious folks" freak the **** out of me (and not in a good way).

No, it doesnt. If they have no knowledge of true Christianity, they can still obtain Heaven as long as they havent committed mortal sins (murder, adultery, rape, etc). Catholicism teaches Baptism by blood, water and desire. The discussion would take too long for me to type, but you can look those up.

Basically, if you arent aware of the truths of Christianity, you wont be punished for that. But you do have an obligation to seek out the truth, and hopefully that eventually leads you to them.

My God exists in my heart and my mind. My God gives me comfort and hope. My God told me to not to judge you other sumbitches, because he has that covered.

You're probably joking but I kinda feel that way. If there is a creator its a reasonable and logical being. If you're fair and kind you'll find favor.

God teaches there are acceptable behaviors and there are unacceptable behaviors. If you want to call the unacceptable behaviors intolerance, then yes. I am intolerant to behaviors, not individuals.

Romans 14:1 “As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions.”

John 8:7
When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her."

The New Testament is pretty clear of being accepting of others. All sin is equal so just because someone is sinning differently than you does not allow righteous condemnation or judgement. Honestly, this is a key aspect of Christianity and one that differentiates it from many other religions in the world. Even though many Christians do not get this part right.

Man can have enough desire on his own to follow Christ?......... save himself if you will? If so, what was the purpose of Christ if we can do it ourselves?

Certain sins can't be forgiven? Where's that found? Sin is sin His eyes, one no worse that the other, it's black and white. I'm human, and I'll fail, He knows that, He expects that.

I dont see where my quote is contrary to the scripture you quoted. Just because we all sin, doesnt mean i have to accept homosexuality or any other sin as "tolerable". I didnt say i was perfect. I am not intolerant of the person, i'm intolerant of the behavior. I would not go on a double date with two gay men as the other couple, but doesn't mean i wouldnt carry on a conversation with a gay man.
