Today I was going through 10 or so machines doing the 60 second work and 30 second rest thing where you try to see how many reps you can get one. I've been doing his once a week for a couple of months now and trying to increase the weights on the machines, I'm up to 55 pounds on most of them now. Today I freaked my son out a bit who comes to the gym with me because I pushed myself too hard and had to sit and rest at the end because I was completely exhausted. Exhausted to the point where I wasn't finishing the walk to the car - I needed to rest and put my head a table and for 5 minutes. I I've had this happen before when I did too many lunges and basically ended up laying down for 5-8 minutes until recovering. I'm late 40s now, but this happened to me a couple of times when I was younger too (teens). It seems to be all about pushing too hard. Anybody else run into this? Do I just need to go a bit easier?

What color is your urine after an episode? How did your legs/arms/back/shoulders feel when you were exhausted?

That is the way I do things, when I worked out, I pushed myself daily as hard as I could. Anything I do I do it vigorously and as quickly as possible. Take the stationary bicycle for instance, I used to go as fast as I could to reach the distance I wanted to achieve. That's not good, I go for time now and it's not as hard on my body. Have you had. a physical exam in recent years? Denying that it's not necessary could be hard on you... It is necessary.

Urine is light and normal, muscles felt used but not in any pain.

I have had urine get darker, but not in relation to this event. When I wasn't going to the gym last year and not getting much exercise at all, if I mowed the lawn, urine would be darker.

I need to go in for a physical, it has been a number of years, maybe 5 or so. I'm at 205 lbs and probably should be at 175-180 lbs or so.

I should have drank some water beforehand, I had a couple of 12 oz sodas this morning before going (which I know isn't great). My diet could be better for sure.

First I want to applaud you for your efforts, it takes discipline, glad you are getting to the gym.

Your body is an interesting machine, you need to focus on nutrition and hydration, both are critical when you start pushing yourself further.

The bigger piece of changing your weight is what you eat, I'm sure you know this, but getting your intake dialed in, makes the hard work you are doing more effective.

And the last piece, you need to see a Doc, don't put it off, get it done right away. You don't want to literally "leave it all" at the gym.

And as an added incentive, 3 years ago I was "forced" to a physical to maintain an insurance discount. I didn't think I needed it, 5-6 days a week working out, managing my weight really well, for 55 years old I felt like I was in tip top shape. New Doc is aggressive, PSA is too high, he doesn't like it, old Doc wasn't concerned. Turns out I had Stage 4 Prostate Cancer and had absolutely no clue.

You need to make sure you don't have something medically that needs attention...

I go to the gym 5-6 days a week and have for years. You already know the answer to your question, and I agree with you. It's pretty clear something's not right. I could throw up a poll and ask if the rest of the members want you to keep posting and all, but we already know the answer to that too. Go see a Doc and get a physical. Tell the Doc what the deal is. Do this before you kill your self please.
