Hello, I'm interested in getting an accurate 22 rifle without spending an arm and a leg. I'd also like to mount a scope to assist my eyes. I mostly want to shoot targets and practice with it at 25, 50 and maybe 100 yards. Your help is appreciated.
Thanks

Whoa! I just posted something about my Ruger 10/22.

The 10/22 is the rifle I'd recommend. It's highly accurate and can be customized from a wide variety of aftermarket suppliers or Ruger itself. Great target gun and scopes fit easily.

It's semi-automatic, so you can just stay on-target and blast away! They are so fun to shoot. Me and my 7-year-old took mine out to Medlocks yesterday. It was, by far, the most fun we've had together in a long time.:50cal:

I don't know what your idea of affordable is or how much time you are going to spend with this rifle.

Dollar for dollar there is probably nothing finer than a CZ.
Great craftsmanship, beautiful rifle, wins lots of competitions.

A CZ-452 brand new goes for about $350-$400

I sure like mine. :)

Might be a little pricey but sounds interesting. I'll check into the CZ.

You can get the trainer model for about $300

The only difference is it has a beech stock instead of walnut and the stock is the hog back shape they seem to like in Europe instead of the straight stock that Americans tend to like.

But the rifling, bolt, and trigger group are identical to the 452 American.
And they all shoot GREAT.

Typical groups with a scoped CZ at 50yds will be about the size of a nickel, maybe a dime.
