Another vote for a CZ 452. Any better rifle and you will be looking at an Anschutz.Unless you can find a used target rifle the CZ is the best value going.

He's right next step up is the Anschutz, however they can be found under 5 bills used.

To answer the question.
I have been happy with 10/22's and 77/22's for a long time.

Lots of other good options these days though.
CZ's look great.

Savage makes some good ones as well.
Especially when you get into the laminate stocked, heavy barrel models (Mark II BV, BTV, BTVS).
They are a little less money than some others heavy barreled options.

I bought mine at Savage Trading.

Outdoor America had a couple of 452's in stock about 3 or 4 weeks ago.

Whittaker Guns in Kentucky has lots of CZ's and other rifles too in stock at really good prices, if you know for sure what you want.
If you are looking for a left hand model or one of the unusual models that probably won't be in stock locally, you need to call them.

Ive never shot a CZ but I have a ruger 10/22, 22mag bolt action and I love them both. Ive also still got my first gun which is a marlin 22 bolt action. I like all 3 a lot and the shoot great!

The CZ's are the best kept secret in .22's. They are quality built, accurate as all get out, and relatively cheap. I have a 453 American. Online, budsgunshop or whittakers are good sources.

DO NOT BUY THE ERIC BROOKS TRIGGER!!!! There are numerous complaints about him not shipping/not responding. There are other options, and a quick glance at the CZ forum at rimfire central will yield everything from the "poor man's trigger job" to Yodave and other kits.
