Not today but a week or so ago I picked up my Stag10 receiver set and last week I got the lower parts kit and trigger for it. Geissele was doing a promotion to send funds for hurricane relief so I picked up a SSA-E trigger for $160 and a lower parts kit from aero, have not decided direction I want to go for stock yet. Going with 18” 308 but it will be a buy parts here and there project as I’m not in a big hurry on it.

I got this basket case Ithaca 49 awhile back.

I stripped the flaking cerakote off the receiver.

And gave it a coat of metallic copper Rustoleum.

Refinished the stock. Yes, that is dark walnut. It's a white wash stain.

Finally I had to tap the stripped screw hole to the next size I had and fabricate a new set screw from the end of a bolt.

And ended up with this fully functional rifle.

Any tips on breaking one all the way down? My brother and I have one that we both learned to shoot on but it won't fire anymore. Thinking the hammer spring needs to be replaced.

These videos show the full teardown and reassembly. They were invaluable in putting this one back together.
