Per Gonzales v. Raich, they don't. Your action of making a purchase outside of interstate commerce implies that you would have made the purchase within interstate commerce if you hadn't had the option to make the purchase outside of interstate commerce.

All well and good for Gonzales and Raich. Don't take this as being snarky, but I'm not either one of them.

Sure about that?

The last honest Sheriff I knew retired a few years ago, and he'd've not turned down money from the Federales.

I've known him for years, and I've had the discussion with him personally on multiple occasions. The same with a number of his deputies. They have all said they will refuse to confiscate anyone's weapons unless they are a known felon. Yes, I know, what you say now, and what you do when the Feds are putting pressure on you is something different... but, you can say the same thing to the Molon Labe crowd. Never really know till push comes to shove. And I think my current sheriff would shove back. As would a number of my friends who are deputies and in the local PDs. Just my $0.02.

All too well! One of the most egregious faults in our judicial system is allowing precedent to become law. I, and everyone else deserves their day in court, and applying precedence will cut that short.

How would you like the system to work instead?

The point of stare decisis is consistency. It doesn't mean that a decision is right, but it does guarantee that we can know what to expect, at least for awhile.

Just follow the Constitution. The Constitution will supply all the consistancy that will ever be needed. All we need is a Court filled with Judges and Justices who will abide the Constitution and not foist the agenda upon us they were appointed to foster.

I'm eager to see a firearms freedom act here. I'd build an SBR and a homemade suppressor.

Then again, the likelihood of getting caught by a cop that would even know to ask questions about an SBR would be pretty slim.

Anybody know what happened to this? HB2805

The Senate leadership is/has been running out the clock on this by decree of the Governess(who they really seem to serve, not us). Not just this session, but last session, too.

If the Senate and the Governess were serious about redeeming themselves to 2A supporters, this would already be passed and signed into law.
