One thing I'd do with it if you like mushrooms is to finely dice up 1/4 of a medium sized onion, one half of a bell pepper, two cloves of garlic, salt, pepper, 1/8 cup of minute rice, and one egg per pound of meat.Coworker gave me 4# of ground venison, what shall I do with it?
Anything you can do with ground beef, you can do with ground venison. I like to make "Hamburger" steaks with it, or mix with beef for B&B meatloaf, make Salisbury steaks, etc, etc, etc.Coworker gave me 4# of ground venison, what shall I do with it?
One thing I'd do with it if you like mushrooms is to finely dice up 1/4 of a medium sized onion, one half of a bell pepper, two cloves of garlic, salt, pepper, 1/8 cup of minute rice, and one egg per pound of meat.
Mix all ingredients together and form into oblong patties that are about 1/3 lb like Salisbury steaks.
Roll in seasoned flour, and fry until browned, and not necessarily done in the center.
Arrange in a baking dish that has been coated with a nonstick spray.
Mix up one can of Cambells golden mushroom soup with a can of Cambells Beef Consomme'.
Add two crushed cloves of garlic, 1/2 of a rough chopped onion and the other half of the bell pepper, also rough chopped that was mixed with the meat. (add fresh chopped jalapeno for heat if wanted)
Add one 5oz can of sliced mushrooms or preferably, sauté your own in butter, and add to the soup.
Mix all of that together and bake in the oven, covered with foil for 30 minutes at 375 degrees.
Remove the foil and cook until bubbly in the center that will take another 30 minutes or so.
It can be made up, put in the fridge and served a day or two later by putting back into the oven until warm throughout.
Garnish with diced green onion tops, or sprinkle some cheese over the top.
