Are there any other gadget geeks on here? I just love technology and all the cool gadgets we are getting these days...so....what is the latest gadget or gadgets you've recently purchased?...anything....I'm researching a few things....

I'm having a house built and I have a few things that I want to have incorporated....security cameras being one. There are a few others I've been eyeballing.

Even better, get a RZ Raven set up with the KillerBee framework and unlock everyone else's electronic deadbolts.

I recently acquired a Raspberry Pi. They're neat. I'm going to screw around with PwnPi on it I think.

Yeah I was thinking some low/high voltage lighting controls with an Arduino system and low/high voltage relays. You could build them and place them in a control panel. Leave enough room to build your own irrigation controller for future install. Maybe some sensors for the garage door to show a status of open/close.

I just got a Stellaris Launchpad from TI. I've got two projects in mind after I finish building my AK.

1. Home security augmentation. I'm thinking of throwing TI RTOS on it and building an ethernet shield. It supports USB host mode, and I have a few old webcams kicking around, so I'd like to set them up to stream video (or at least timelapse). Integrate it with my alarm system, or use it as the alarm when I move to a new house (It has a crap-ton of GPIOs, so it's pretty well suited for something like this).

2. GSM enabled trail cam. Use one of the webcams to take snapshots, and use a gsm modem to txt pics to my phone. Probably wouldn't use TI RTOS for this one.

EDIT: I've got a TI EVAL-BOT (https://estore.ti.com/Product3.aspx?ProductId=2388) I'm trying to sell for cheap, PM me if anyone's interested.
