Vortex will last and/or will be warranted for as long as you own it. They set the std for customer service.

Primary Arms Micro would be another choice for under 100

Bushy TRS25 is another option from PA as well.

I'd put my money into something with an unconditional warranty..........the Strikefire or Sparc would be a safer way to go IMO

EDIT: I see you want it specifically for the AR15. You probably want a riser mount, so I wouldn't get the Bushnell TPS-25. I would get a aimpoint clone like the Primary Arms. PA is out of stock at the moment, sign up and get notified.

I use an accessory riser block, like 25 bucks for one, puts the TRS-25 in perfect alignment for cowitness with the magpul mbus sites. Have to use one on the PFI as well.

Yes I would like an optic I don't have to turn on, I would love an aimpoint that I can just leave on and change the battery in it once a year. Bang for buck that TRS-25 has been fantastic. I don't have cases for any of my rifles when we go to the range I just toss them in the backseat of the truck or throw them in the toolbox, shot several rifle tactical rifle matches with it and did TDSA's rifle 1 course with it. It's been out in the field in freezing weather deer hunting it's been rained and snowed on. I'd probably cringe at the thought of dinging up a more expensive optic, and I'm going to use it for TDSA's rifle 2 course, I'm that confident in it.

OK, here it comes...my fifth grade humor has just jumped up. Taught them for 25 years and I just have to say. You know you can get a Red Dot for any gun for free...
Just get a red Magic Marker and put the red dot any where you want on your gun.
