I don’t drink coffee. The wife does. Shes had two keurigs. A single cup that’s 13yo, and a multi-cup that’s 7yo. They still work just fine. Granted I’m not a coffee drinker, but I never much cared for the taste of keurig made coffee. Teas were better from it in my opinion. They are pretty convenient though.

Dunno 'bout newer, smaller machines, but the larger machines hold water in the reservoir and if people didn't use them regularly? Mold would form.

I have a "larger" machine but I drink several cups of Kcup coffee a day, plus, I use it for instant oatmeal in the morning.

If you only want a cup of coffee every month or so, I'd suggest getting a machine that doesn't keep water that you cannot drain. (If they make such a thing.)

The one I've got stores water (in the heating section) that cannot be drained. It can only be replaced via usage. I can remove the "canteen" portion, but cannot drain the water in the heating reservoir. That's where the mold forms if it isn't recycled regularly.
That's a good point. I'd hate to drink a cup after that water has sat in it for a month or two.

Tell me about Keurig coffee makers please. Anyone own one? Do you like it? Easy to make a cup of tea or coco? I am thinking of buying or trading for one as we have no coffee maker at the moment and do not drink enough for a regular machine. I might want a cup of coffee every month or two as a hold over habit from my construction days. Wife does like hot tea a lot. I figure something like a Keurig or similar would be all we need and with all our daughters stuff we have to sell I should be able to afford or trade for a reasonably priced machine.

Wouldn't be without ours. House and hunting cabin both have.

I am not impressed. The coffee sucks. My $10 coffee maker from Wal Mart makes better coffee. It's a little slower but the coffee it makes is so much better. And there is 8 cups instead of one. I do not own one, just had one at work that was free to use and the coffee was not any good.

We went through 3, none lasted a year.
Pods cost way more than a can of coffee.
A Mr Coffee is cheap. There is a 5 cup, small size or the regular 12 cup.

I wasn't a fan of Keurig, even when it worked. $100 for the machine vs $25 for the Mr Coffee was more than justification.
