I missed this thread yesterday.

Overall, I had a pretty good time but it was exhausting and way too short. I got up at 4:00 Tulsa time to get to the airport and catch my 6:00 am flight. Arrived in Vegas at 8:00 local time. Needed to clear some work email so I sat in a Starbucks for about 3 hours and ate breakfast.

I then went up to the Spring Mountains, drove some awesome roads at 8-11k feet around Mt Charleston, and did about 3 miles of hiking. At 8000+ feet, that was plenty for an afternoon. They had just gotten some snow that weekend, but I missed seeing it at the "lower" elevations. It was only still around near the summit. Overall, it's amazing to drive 45 minutes from the desert valley and somewhere around a mile up, you hit pine trees :)

I then got back in town and checked into my room, and drove to the Strip. I mainly walked around taking it all in, watching the weed heads beg for money for more weed, inhaling the fumes of vomit that filled the trash cans outside the Bellagio fountains, and watched drunk hipster girls mow into pedestrians with their rental Rascal scooters. So you could say I wasn't very enchanted with the Strip :nono: . I did hit up the Caesar's buffet, and it was some 40+ bucks. But damn worth it. Tomahawk ribeye, crab legs, Peking Duck, Prime Rib, Korean short ribs, smoked brisket, smoked pork ribs, Chinese bbq ribs, about 3-4 sushi roll selections, about 4-5 different Italian cured meats (Prosciutto, Capicola, salamis, this was my second favorite part, actually) and lastly oyster shooters in little shot glasses (those were by far my FAVORITE).

I probably had 40 bucks worth of cured Italian luncheon meats and oysters, not to mention the ribeye and everything else.

The following day was spent reading legal briefs in the AM, and giving a deposition in the PM. I did squeeze some In-N-Out in for lunch (single cheese animal style with fries, also animal style). That evening I spent low-key at my hotel/casino (the Southpoint) enjoying some comp'ed beer and buffet and watching the baseball game before turning in early to catch an early flight the next day.

So I only got one good day in, and it was alright. I enjoyed myself fine but learned that the Vegas life is not for me. I doubt I would go there on my own dime for vacation, but I now know how to entertain myself if I have to go testify if this case goes to trial :D Thank you all for the tips.
