I used to be a sucker for a sad story, and it wasn't uncommon for me to lend up to a grand to a close friend to make their house payment, or so they said. Seems it was spent at the casino, and I got my money back eventually, but the last time, I lent money, it never came back, and their home, and everything in it went up for sale. He had $10000.00 + guns that went for penny's on the dollar at pawn shops. I'm a lot wiser now.
