That's what started happening to me after that graduate student graduated. My experience was not like yours however. It was not pleasant. It sounds better now, which is good.
Yeah it's always been good there. Takes them a long time because they want everything perfect. If you don't have a lot of time to get work done it's definitely not the place for you. But I saved so much money the time was worth it.

My wife and I go to OU Dental School also, we have Delta dental insurance and it covers quite a bit. The wife wants to go to a Dentist on the outside but it is more costly and based on my experience, the outside dentists tend to find things that need corrected more so than the OU Dental School.
Also, Rose State College has a Dental Hygienists School there and they offer free dental cleanings periodically throughout the year, if you want to save a few bucks, you might try calling them and seeing what they offer.

I think what soured me the most was I went to get a crown and at the end of 4 hours root canal and all, I had a temporary crown and another appointment for the next week to get the permanent one. Why do all that work and not put a permanent crown on? I viewed it as a scam to get more money.
The procedure also cause my TMJ to go nuts and I have developed a really bad gag reflex. Even the X Ray film squares make me gag. I won't go to another dentist that doesn't have that 360 degree noninvasive X Ray.

Another dentist cleaned my bottom teeth and quit making another appointment to clean the top teeth. Same thing, another scam.
The crowns are made by another service. DDS do not know what will be needed until after the work they do. I did get some plastic temp crowns until the hard crowns were designed. I hadn't been to a DDS in 8 years and luckily, both issues were from old fillings that turned into crowns. I got lucky.

I was in the Sweetwater Tx area all spring and had some teeth I needed to pull before Hip Replacement 5 weeks ago. I had 3 teeth pulled every 10 - 14 day for a total of 10 teeth, mostly Molar and Wisdom teeth. There was 2 Dentist in the town and I picked to one that was born and raised there. He numbed me up and would have a tooth pulled mighty quick and most were broke off at the gums. Never had a antibiotic or needed a pain pill. I was amazed how well this guy could get em out and talk my leg off while he did it. Look forward to letting him and his office personal know I lived and had zero problems with infection! I definitely know how the Cowboys took care of a bad tooth now. Im kind of surprised He didnt brand me! LOL

I walked up behind my hygienist while she was working on another patient and said, "Oh, that looks bad, we'll have to extract that, I'll take over from here." It didn't go over too well. I thought it was funny.
Your story is extra-funny when I look at your cousin Eddie avatar pic, and picture Cousin Eddie saying…”I’ll take over from here” !!! 🤠🤠🤠

I had summer camp at various forts in the army reserves. At two of the camps, on two separate occasions, I had impacted wisdom teeth. Of course, the military dentists perform their duties on an assembly line. By the time they got back to me to pull the tooth, the Novacaine was gone. I all but hit the guy when he tapped on the tooth to make sure it was the right one.

Oh yeah, I forgot, the tooth pullers are NOT dentists, they are spec4's

My brother says when the dentist comes in and sits down he grabs the dentist by the nuts and say, “we’re not gonna hurt each other, understand!”

Get implants. A tooth can cost sooooo much money. First, you get a filling. You get those until the integrity of the tooth is gone. Then comes a crown, hopefully just a crown. If it's bad, bring in the root canal, which is followed with a crown. Extraction is next, then here comes the bridgework! yikes$$$$$ How about brushing and flossing eh?
