No, you linked a piece that claims it to have been a myth that needed debunking. That's not the same thing as showing it to have been "common advice," not by a long shot.

And if it was not common advice it would not need debunking. I know my memory is better then most but even my wife remembers it along with several older people I have asked, and my wife has one of the worst cases of CRS you will ever see short of someone with a medical condition.

However, go out on the street in a "neutral" state (not Oklahoma, not California) ask any 10 people which party is more racist, and 8 will say the Republicans.

How do you distinguish between the true liberals who simply want to improve the lives of minorities and those simply pandering to the fears of those minorities? (Which, I agree, happens, and which is unproductive.)

And those 8 would be wrong!!! While I have seen far more racist BS from the Dems, I know it is about 50/50 and neither side is any better or worse. The only difference is the way it is publicized and handled.

...the advice not to fight back has been around for awhile and is possibly still being given out and is the same advice being given out to the victims of robbery - don't provoke, don't do anything to make him angry or you'll make it worse.

Actually it was "lie back and try to enjoy it." and it is still wrong no matter who says it. I copied someones post and did not notice they did not put the try in. Does not really make a huge difference but it does a little bit.
