Logically, that does not follow. The fact that the paper's author decided to include it does not mean that it was ever actually given as advice, let alone that it was commonly given as advice. The fact that the idiot politicrit who spoke the line was thoroughly castigated and lost his race is better evidence that it wasn't common advice. When you combine that with the difficulty of finding references to it as advice...

Finding references to it as advice is not the problem, finding references that are not all political spin about the latest fool to say it is, but note the date on the paper I linked, it is three years before what's his name said it.

I have not had time to dig through the internet archives yet but I bet I find something in there.

You're right. Perception's everything. The GOP has also been successfully painted as the party of misogyny. Republicans have laid back and allowed extremists like Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Glenn Beck, Michele Bachmann, et al define the party. It's going to take some work to grab the GOP back from MSNBC.

Not trying to be argumentative sir. Just the way I see things.

Just a few examples, how much did you hear about Condi Rice being called an Oreo by Dems? How much about Michelle Malkin being called a slant eyed c__t by Dems? How much did you hear about several Dems wishing Sara Palin and other Republican women would be raped? I can go on if you wish but the point is this kind of thing is almost never reported by the media if a Dem says it, but let a Republican say something stupid or mean and it is front page news for a week.

I've never heard any of those things.

EDIT: Until you just said them, I mean.

That is because the MSM never ran the stories, but the made up stories about someone shouting threats to kill Obama at a rally or someone shouting the N word at black lawmakers passing through a Teaparty crowd become national news and run for weeks.

For the record, I do not agree either and think all rapist should be given a 45 caliber sex change, but that does not change the fact that I have heard it for years given as advice to women and have heard women's groups say it. The wording was usually something along the lines of "better not to fight but instead to relax and try to enjoy it"
I do not agree with it and never have and think women should be allowed to carry a weapon of their choosing. Most studies show that even a hint of a weapon will stop most rape attempts.

The part that chaps my butt is that one side is getting most of the blame for stupid, sexist or racist comments when all sides are equally guilty. Face it folks they are all people and people say dumb sh#t. Until all sides are treated the same instead of one getting a pass it will never end. The media can not continue to blast Republicans and sometimes independents without holding the Dems to the same standard if we ever hope to weed it out.

I would have been content to let it die. The only thing that anyone has contested is the idea that this was avise given by "left wing womens groups." That a weatherman or a science fiction novelist said it, has nothing to do with that original statement.

BTW, I never said he lied. I said he "flat-ass made it up"
Which is not the same thing.
