Finally got my Big Green Egg after Fathers day. :thumb: I will be building a nice stand for it. Until then though it gets to hang out right on the patio. :thanku:

My first use was a bit of grilling. Stuffed pork chops and chicken breasts with some shrooms.

I'm excited. Cooking cedar plank salmon tonight. :bigeye:

Oh, cool ... we have the big huge smoker/grill. Kinda big for two people so we don't use it as much as I would like so I have been on the look out for something smaller. I take it you are happy with your Big Green Egg?

Let us know how the salmon turns out!

I'm on my second Green Egg and I love it. I wish I had bought one way before I did. I smoked 3 racks of ribs and two pork tenderlions yesterday. Congrats on your great gift. Check out the naked whiz web site. It has everything you made need or want to know.

I have a Webber charcoal grill, a Jen-air gas grill and a Cookshack electric smoker. I've looked at the Big Green Egg, and I think it might replace a couple if not all of these. Let us know what you think after using it for a while.

+1 on getting an update from you.

I've been considering a dive into the smoking world and have been really struggling with which way to go.

Will be really interested in hearing how the egg works for you.

Mm mm mm mm mm..... Dadgum let me tell you that the Salmon was great. However, I am new to the Kamodo cookers and there is a learning curve to temp control. Mine got a bit too hot at around 550. :censored: Because I left the lower vent open too far. All this did though was burn the cedar planks on the bottom. :rubhands: They typically last for a few uses, not these two. Had potatoes on one and a beautiful one pound salmon filet on the other. The fish was perfectly cooked and tasty. Best I have ever had.

Look here to see what it looked like: Not my pics but looked close.

I must admit that this thing gets HOT. It will cook a pizza at 700 degrees or smoke all day at 250. I don't regret the purchase one bit but if I wanted one just a bit bigger than mine which is a Large Egg I would go with the Primo.
