Sorry for your troubles elcaBob. I agree, two tickets was a bit over the top. Sometimes that officer discretion thing kinda sucks.

Sure does...that's why most of us try not to give them a reason to pull us over, and if we fail in that endevour we usually take our lumps and move on. Driving around since March with expired tags and you're bitching about a ticket?

IMHO, that "safety corridor" has a lot to do with fishing for the known/growing drug trafficking hub in that area. As evidenced by the recent busts that involved movement of large amounts of meth between Shawnee/Tecumseh and OKC.

Well, I didn't say anything but he could have impounded the car, called DHS to take the kids and left the adults at the nearest CumNGo to make their own way ... While that much in fines sucks arse, I'm gonna say he really could have been a bigger dick if he'd wanted to.

Expired tags are a pet-peeve of certain folks around here -- I say it just nets the State more revenue in the end as the fine doubles and some of the hi-$$ cars I've seen with "Sharpee extensions" had to have some hefty fines attached to them when they finally made their way to the tag office.

And, yeah, I don't see that safety corridor campaign as anything other than a gigantic drug bust ... lol

Sharpie...now why didn't I think of that!

I have to admit, Mrs. SMS has driven around on an expired tag once or twice in her life, and not been pulled over. But damn, just sounds funny bitching about a situation that didn't have to happen at all.

One of those should be dismissed. Failure to pay taxes due to State and Expired License Tag ARE the same thing. Look on your citations and see if he put the violation number on there and look it up. Should be 47-xxx-xx or something like that.

If you have trouble with the Trooper's attitude or the way he treated you, I'd contact an OHP Supervisor and complain. This Trooper's name wasn't "Martin" was it?

She is not alone ... :lookaroun But I will say this, GC has kept me on the straight and narrow since he drug me up outta the gutter and dusted me off! LOL I was the gal who went on the very last day before the fines doubled. The first time I did that after we got married I thought he was gonna have me for lunch! YIKES ... It's just easier to pick it up the month before -- pick your battles and that kind of thing, you know? :D

You might try & fight the tax ticket. Since it's a tribal tag you don't pay taxes so no taxes were owed to the state. That's why they are so cheap. And yes you do have to make an appointment with the CPN tag office when you 1st get your tag. I saw a paper tag the other day dated 1-17-12, could not believe they had not got caught yet.

I was in the same area as the OP and got a ticket from a OHP storm trooper for 'inattentive driving'. I took it to court and proved I wasn't being inattentive.. that the vehicle in front of me had a object sticking sell over 8 feet behind his trailer and that it wasnt marked.. nor were the break lights on the trailer operative.. so I couldn't see it had stopped in the road. The trooper even admitted on the stand that he never saw the breaklight operative on the trailer. Judge just changed the ticket in court to 'following to closely' and fined me anyway. The Shawnee area court is simply a cash making machine for the county. If I remember right, the judge's family had been murdered when he was young.. so now he gets back at the killer by imposing harsh sentences on everyone he can. If he can't execute them... he fines them.
after your rant about $419 glocks that turned out to be a complete fabrication, your credibility is 0 . btw if you cant tell a trailer is stopped in time to not hit it you were following to close at the very least

He had not been driving around since March. The car had to be fixed before it could be driven. Heck he stated that in his post. Then once he could drive it he got an appointment to get tribal tags ( which you have to do first time). Heck he even stated it was his fault for the expired tag ticket ( stated that in his post). All he is asking about is the second one failure to pay taxes. Which IMO seems like the same thing as the expired tag ticket. So he is more than willing to pay the expired tag ticket and stated that. Then asks for any info on OSA about the second ticket. Wow..
