Now you have gone and done it.... Keep it up and I'll have to hit my caps lock bioches.

I love how people get bent on the net...

HEY!! Little Bird, wassup?!?!?!?!

Thanks GC!! Explained and you took the time to reference it... Moving on...

That's because he has a paralegal wife who knows how to read oscn.net like a Better Homes and Garden cookbook ... (That and he told me what Section he wanted and I linked it!! LOL)

That must be a special kind of store in OKC....

LOL ... Why yes, it is. Down on the southside here. I wasn't even thinking but that really is the name of it ...

Most of the old hi-po's like you are damn good guys. I make a lot of their gear, so they usually are really nice. I've always wondered, when some of the young dumb ones are spouting imaginary laws, is it acceptable to have them get a supervisor on scene to straighten things out?

Sure it is, but things will go better for you if you aren't screaming at the top of your lungs about your constitutional rights when you do it. (Just saying ...) :D Just tell them that you would like for them to call a supervisor.

I get my tags in Pawhuska at the Osage tribal tax office and have never had to get an appointment- its first come first serve there like at state tag agencies. Weird.

Thank you, thank so very much. Seriously.

Highly likely that each tribe handles their business differently. I mean,... just a thought. Seriously.

Not directed at anyone in particular,... but there sure are a bunch of judgmental pricks around here.

One of those should be dismissed. Failure to pay taxes due to State and Expired License Tag ARE the same thing. Look on your citations and see if he put the violation number on there and look it up. Should be 47-xxx-xx or something like that.

If you have trouble with the Trooper's attitude or the way he treated you, I'd contact an OHP Supervisor and complain. This Trooper's name wasn't "Martin" was it?

Technically, no, I didn't have issue with his attitude. He can be as nasty as he feels like, I suppose. It just seems to me that when an officer finally does pull some truly bad guy over, he's more likely to get cooperation if he's not so busy trying to intimidate people. I can assure you, if I gave him back the attitude he gave me, I'd still be trying to get my one phone call.

And, to the poster that said I was driving around since March with an expired tag, I didn't drive the car until very recently as there were repairs that needed to be made after I purchased it. At my very FIRST opportunity (meaning first available appointment), I went directly to the tag office. The car was registered within an hour of my being pulled over. It would have been simple for the officer to confirm the appointment with the tribal tag agency as I had their contact information right there.

I'm NOT complaining that I got a ticket. I'm complaining that I got two that seem to be for the same offense. If you want to get someone for failure to pay the state, go back to the person that owned it when the violation took place. I had the title with their name right on it. Why should I pay for someone else's crime?

And, to answer the question, the Potawatomi's stopped requiring the appointment OR the in person visit as of July 1... d'oh! Had I known they were going to do that, I'd have never driven that car, I can assure you!

And, to straighten one thing up, I'm no cop basher. I've been treated very well by OHP or any other agency I've ever dealt with before.

Well, I didn't say anything but he could have impounded the car, called DHS to take the kids and left the adults at the nearest CumNGo to make their own way ... While that much in fines sucks arse, I'm gonna say he really could have been a bigger dick if he'd wanted to.

I thought those were called Stop and Rob's

Well Im not sure whats up with a lot of these people weve hired lately...like the last 5 or 6 years or so. We used to be taught to be professional and polite to everyone...use Sir or Maam when talking to them and such. It seems a lot of the younger guys have forgot the polite part. Guess Im getting old, well I know I am but I can at least still be polite.

It's not ALL of them, it must be the ones around the larger cities. A couple of years ago I got nailed by one of the youngster OHPs out in the panhandle. Wayyyy out there between Guymon and Boise City. He had a perfect hiding spot picked out in a "divot" or depression in the highway right beside a bridge railing for a bridge that ran over a dry creek. Couldn't see him until it was way too late and my radar detector doesn't work if they ain't running it. Anyway I had just topped a hill and as is my usual mode I was "stepping it up" getting ready for the next hill. I like to "get it going a bit" while going down the hills so I can make it up the next one without the cruise accelerating on the way up. Saves gas this way! He clocked me at 78. It could as easily been 92. :lookaroun

Hey those hills are long out there!

He asked me if I knew why he stopped me. I said "yep" and handed him my SDA, DL and insurance. He said "where's the gun?" I said "right inside this door pocket right by your shins". He said "be right back". He came back with my written warning and asked what kind of gun it was. Nice kid that one was.

Now the old OHP just south of Woodward was a bit different. He was completely professional but cut me no slack. Had to break out the checkbook at the courthouse on that one. :grumble:
