Yawn!!! Same old arguments that neither side is going to change positions on. Those for legalizing think the other side wants to regulate everything, those against think the pro side just wants to get stoned and have everybody else support them.

Beyond just "regulating everything", there is a real economic cost to wars on drugs, poverty, terrorism, etc. A very LARGE cost.
Which we can no longer afford to pay.

This is one of those areas where the true "small government" conservatives area easily identified and contrast with the imposters who mouth the words but in reality they believe in a big powerful government
just as much as their political enemies.

They have different plans and objectives for that big government power over citizens but they believe in the power of the state over the individual just as much as the most extreme liberal.

And that's why the government always grows and assimilates more power over time no matter which party wins elections.

No doubt. Other than having a few boats floating around in the oceans and taking care of treaties and such, the fed.gov has no business involving itself in societal issues. The respective sovereign states can handle those concerns. Better yet, leave it to the seperate counties, municipalities, neighborhoods, families... individual.

RP won't win as the money elites must ensure that they can continue to prop up the 51st state and keep all good little Amerikans in line with their "wars".

Because legalizing drugs will just give us more basket cases to support, and before someone says Paul will wave his magic wand and make all that go away, I live in the real world and know better. Plus I have several family members with drug or booze problems and have seen for myself what happens.
This country alone has spent in excess of 1 trillion dollars in our "war on drugs". To date, not only have we not won it, we haven't even been able to make a dent in it. If it's legalized, at least then it's taxable. So far, all we've managed to do is finance shadow government(s) south of us, get thousands of people killed, and give ourselves the largest prison population on the planet.

yes! And the current security checks at transport points...how much are they costing us? All they have to do is allow the second amendment to work as it should and let folks travel armed, and all the Billions we are spending on the TSA will go away.
Not to mention the war on poverty...or the war on homelessness.

Not to mention saving thousands of lives and kept millions of others from ruining theirs.

Uh, ok. I'd love to see you back that up with something more than opinion.
Too bad you can't seem to get past the fact that prohibition doesn't work, and never has. The object of the prohibition is immaterial once enough people decide they want it.
Likewise you can't seen to get that if they choose to screw themselves, that's their choice to make. You can't legislate it away, no matter how hard you try. See above: prohibition doesn't work, never has.

So, we've wasted how many dollars on this - and how many lives, both here and elsewhere? Einstein quantified idiocy, our war on drugs absolutely proves he was right.
