    Brian,

LOL.....I am more than confident enough to do this for you guys. After all, it is my design. I meant more or less you guys start asking for super high end pieces with Walrus Ivory, folder type knives. Or me forging one start to finish with my hammer and anvil. I am just far from that skill level right now. I will stick to full tang fixed blade knives right now.....lol Once I get down to hang with a couple maker buds, I can start learning other skills like folders, forging etc.

On your blade, it might be a tad higher with the material you selected. Not much at all. But I know the custom micarta is more expensive that your average scale sets. I think I have to buy it by the foot or yard. Cant remember. I will check on that for you. I am excited to get this one started for you. Going to be a nice blade strapped to your gear!!

I will send you a PM once I get everything figured up and we can discuss our options.

    Thanks again Brian,

    Chris

That chopper is one that I would pick. I dont know if I can or not but I would like to make a suguestion I dont even know if this is possible but can you make the holes go from small like what they are to slightly larger to slightly larger ect, ect, as they go towards the handle. I am not a knife maker by no means just wanted to toss that out.

Nice work I only wish I could do that
    Dustin

    Dustin,

Thank you bro! Its funny you mention that. I had thought about doing that down the road a bit. The hard part is drilling steel can slowly drive you mad. Sometimes you get steel that has "Hot Spots" and its a pain to drill because it is so hard. Once I can afford it I am going to get high speed bits to help me out a little. I am also going to start buying steel that is CRA= Cold Rolled Annealed to make my life a little easier. I have been buying HR=Hot Rolled steel and this is where my issue sits in. Its not an issue for anyone but the maker....lol

Thanks for your comments and opinions. Thats what I love about this stuff, everyone has an eye for design. Its my pleasure to bring that design to a reality. On future Entry Chopper's I will also use 1/4" Stainless pins. The small ones just dont do it for me. But its what I had at the moment.

Thanks again for your input and support!

    Chris

    Ok guys.

After talking with my boy Bill Coye on the forum. I have decided to sub out the heat treat as well. This will ensure you get a fully hardened blade and a specific HR reading. I dont have the means to do an accurate test on my blades. My tests are done by chopping, stabbing and slicing away on 2x4's, rope, para cord and paper. While I know there are hard enough to hold an edge. It is only fair I give you guys, the users an accurate and fully hardened tool to play with.

I will be starting a new thread soon for those interested in getting my Entry Chopper ordered.

Once I have enough people interested I will start the process of having David cut the blanks for me, he will then send them to me...I will grind and finish profiling, pre fit the handles. Then send them out to Brad for Heat Treating and tempering. He will send them back to me and I will finish them up, press some kydex and get them out the door to you guys.

I will most likely be needing to secure deposits with you guys. I will figure up a fair and reasonable deposit. All the deposit covers is Material, Waterjet and Heat treating. I will not ask for the balance until your blade is complete. After this, I will send your blade to you via USPS Priority with DC#.

I am just waiting to see how much interest is involved before taking the green light.

I again thank all of you guys for welcoming me into the knife making world. You can be sure I will be having a B-GAW = Blade Give-Away down the road a bit to thank my fellow brothers and sisters.

    You guys rule,

    Chris
