Back the bolts out some from the back but still engaged. Put a socket with an extension on the bolt head, long enough to reach something solid like the frame or similar...then turn the steering wheel and let the power steering pump do the work of a press.

Works great on Ram 2500 4x4 for sure.
This is the way for sure. Been there, done that. Snap on actually makes a tool for this process now.

For penetrating oil I’m a fan of kroil first, brake fluid second, and PB blaster third.

Yep, I too have the tool (although I think mine is Miller? Maybe not but they make lots of Dodge specific specialty tools) and it's slick as owl ****. After using it, seems pretty simple to implement with sockets and extensions that most have sitting around if they don't want to buy the specialty tool.
