I can only speculate, but I'll bet that the Biden administration offered all that equipment to the Taliban as a part of some withdrawal deal. You see, that way nothing would show on the books as some kind of payoff. Cleaver, but devious if true. It's something I wouldn't put past this administration.

Trump negotiated the pull out, maybe it was part of his negotiation?

This is a good place to get an idea of who did what...

To me it looks like it started as a fuster cluck, and ended as a fuster cluck.

Then they leave BILLIONS of dollars worth of equipment to our enemy and NO ONE is held accountable.
There’s an old saying that a private gets in more trouble for losing a rifle than a general does for losing a war. Boy howdy, did that charlie foxtrot ever prove that statement correct.

You should see the real shat show when a private really loses his weapon. Basic trainee in the unit next to ours "lost" his thinking he would get drummed out of the Army. After the FBI and MP's got done with him, he showed where it got lost. Don't know what happened after that. Our DI's never said.

The biggest display of different spanks for different ranks I ever saw was during a training exercise. Basic it was a whole line of us advancing across essentially a field in vehicles and on foot.
Long story short at the end of the exercise, the cadre running it gathered up all the leaders to recap, and one of them handed the company commander an M9 pistol he found on the ground.

The company commander started to get fired up about how he was going to nail that soldier‘s ass to the wall and then one of the other officers standing there looks down in his holster and saw it was empty and said “oh that might be mine.” The company commander, handed it back to him, both with a sheepish grin that was the end of it. I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if that belonged to some private.
