Logical? Yes. Also, Did it screw up any chance of a good LTR/marriage with him (if that was the goal)? Yes. Unless you do some serious backpeddling.

Romance ain't got a lot to do with logic. Well it does, but you cannot SAY the truth in so many words like that, when it's direct frontal assault on someone's ego or romantic ideals.

It's no so much "mean" as it is "un-conducive to furthering and strengthening the relationship". But maybe it's for the best, if you're not compatible. If you're serious, as it sounds like you are, best that he know NOW rather than later. And get the @#$% out of the relationship. As most anyone would after hearing that, blissninny couch potato or otherwise. To be totally honest with you, dump him. If you can't see yourself keeping him around in a need to survive situation, then ultimately you don't see him as a man, and your relationship will never work properly.
