I have not chimed in on the several posts by fish on that referenced "small parts" - it begs the question - just exactly how many members have been measured?? and we need a definition of small - for instance, compared to what ???

Our differences aside, that's a nice set up. May I ask why you went with a truck & trailer instead of a motor-home? My wife and I have been talking about when we get a bit older maybe selling our lake place and buying a motor-home or truck & trailer and doing some traveling. My father had a travel trailer and it seemed like we spent half the time hooking and unhooking the damn thing and then setting up the trailer for use. But, of course, you have the truck for other use when your at your destination. Could always tow a small car behind a motor-home. Hard to decide which is the better option.

Our only differences may be in the political spectrum, and I've got lots of friends that are Democrats and even some of those are liberals. I'm an "equal opportunity" individual when it comes to differences.

As for the rig, the wife and I have lived in the fifth wheel now for just shy of 4 1/2 years. Most of that time has been sitting "static" in that we aren't moving much. 3 years in OKC and now starting our 2nd year in Colorado. About another year and a half and we will do more traveling. Our plans are to go to an area (say southern Utah, for example) and spend anywhere from 1 to 6 months (or possibly more) to see all the sights that is in that area. Utah itself has 5 national parks, a few national monuments, and of course state parks. In addition, northern Arizona then has the Painted Desert, Grand Canyon, and Antelope Canyon. All the above are sights for me to photograph. Once an "area" has been explored, we'd move to another area and start over.

With regards to fifth wheel versus motorhome, if one is traveling a lot more, the motorhome can make more sense, but for longer stays, the fifth wheel is best because the RV itself doesn't have to be "exercised" like a motorhome would be to keep seals and bearings lubricated. The fifth wheel can also provide more storage space inside than a motorhome, depending on the brand/models. In our case, because we stay static, the F450 gets exercised about every 3 or 4 weeks. The rest of the time, we get around in our Ford Expedition. It provides a lot more space for traveling to Idaho or Oklahoma to see family. When we do travel, the wife drives the Expedition (scout car or tag-along) so she can watch things from the rear or go ahead of me to scout out good fueling stations, attractions, etc, and ways to get into those.

By the way, when you go to researching RV's, let me know and I'll provide some forums where you can get a lot of information about the different rigs and models. There's a lot more than just a bed, a table, and a couch to these things.

That's for sure. We had a 24' Nomad that about a 1985 model. A couple of years ago we were at the boat show and they had some RV's on display. Some similar to yours. Holy cow! The "push outs" make them a whole new game. The room and quality was so far ahead of our Nomad it was astonishing. Of course the prices reflected that.

Serious question Fish On. Why only come to OSA to complain about men..............why not on the other forum as well?

I am sorry, just got back from a vacation to Branson. I cannot get logged back in to the Bartertownok one, and the other one got closed down as I was told. I enjoyed the people on the Barter, they were very helpful and friendly.

So, anything in particular that they might have helped you with at Bartertownok? Aren't the folks here helpful and friendly as well?
