Because it isn't that way anymore. And the products/supporters of that system aren't all that bright and most have a childlike view of authority. Why wouldn't they want to get back to that?

It isn't that way and it isn't going back. Time to get over it. Pretty much the whole world(some exceptions) is smarter than the kids of the 50s, sorry. But keep using cops to force people into school and then use them to try and make them sit quietly. That's the brilliance of the system you support.Of course it isn't that way anymore. If it was, we wouldn't need to go back, would we?
The products of that system aren't all that bright? These kids would graduate high school in the late fifties - you think our current system produces a more educated graduate? I'm sure you're trolling, but man.....
A personal attack on a member you think has been banned and therefore can't respond. Kind of cowardly, don't you think? I'm sure a mod will be along shortly to "address the situation".
the sheriff requested the federal investigation, and doesn't think race was involved, since the now-fired thug has been dating a black woman for some time.
The girl's attorney was on TV this morning talking about her injuries. Neck, head, back, etc.
You guys are serious... you really can't think of any other way for a 250 lb. man to get an 85 lb. schoolgirl out of a chair and down to the principal's office than ^^^ whatever you call that ****. What about, say, grabbing her by the arm and dragging her out of the chair and down to the office, like teachers would do back when I was in school? Really I think it is ridiculous that neither the teacher or the principal felt like they could handle this situation and had to resort to calling the cop. My mom is a schoolteacher. She is 65 years old and probably 120 lbs. she has dragged kids a lot bigger than that down to the principal's office. But then again she conducts herself like a professional, is capable of disciplining kids without losing control of her emotions, doesn't do 'roids or amphetamines, and doesn't own any Tapout or Affliction shirts.
What's your beef with librarians? Were you violently shushed as a child?
Yes, he was in complete control of himself... once he decided whether he wanted to throw her for a third time, or put her in handcuffs. Hey, I understand how you could get a little excited... really I do. It's not every day you get a chance to practice your sweet MMA moves in real life, even if it's just on a little girl. Dillard's is a good idea now that the guy has been fired... but then again I'm sure there is a $h!tty small town PD somewhere that will hire him. At least that's the usual drill.
The student refused to put up the phone, which means she also refused to surrender the phone. I am a teacher and I would not of allowed her to keep the phone out. If a couple of warnings and a little proximity did not work, I would of moved the student to the hallway, if she refused to go, which she did, I would have called the administrator to remove the student.
I will say this, I use a picnic basket as a cell phone basket. When I have a cellphone issue, I merely put the basket on their desk to have them put it in the basket. The basket then stays on their desk until the end of the hour. The basket removes the me as an authority figure, and the student never has to give me the phone, they still have it, it is just has to stay in the basket. The process seems to work for me. I have had issues in the past with students and will again because sometimes, the problem is the student and has nothing to do with my classroom management.
You are the issue with many teachers, you assume that you know the best, which you do not. I do not know the best either.
Here is bright idea, what you you do if she refused to give you the phone.
You mean I can't pick up and slam a child to the ground because she had the temerity to not
Well, that's no fun!
Pretty much sums this whole fiasco up right there.
Funny thing is, the "put a boot in their ass" mentality morons defending the cop would be the ones bitching and moaning the loudest about their property taxes increasing due to all the lawsuit payouts that would result if their solutions were public school policy.
