I've had that happen too. The factory extractors are junk, and too soft to polish/sharpen on. Been there, learned quick... It's worth the $10 for an upgraded... But I've never had a problem with a factory extractor until the 10's of 1000's of rounds was achieved. Just seemed to be another "something" to get another dollar out of my pocket.

This is so true. The extractor is a stamped part (unlike the Volquartsen which is edm'd) and sometimes they simply are not right. Keeping extractor groove clean helps alot on a 10/22's. If running a tight target chamber and extracting unfired rounds, a good edm'd extractor helps alot. I normally don't change out extractors unless they become problematic or I have a OOB and the extractor is loss. The 10/22 will function without and extractor being a blowback, just not real consistantly tho.

I didn't actually do anything to the extractors. I think that somehow the smoother action changed something and I would just get a empty case stuck in the action. It just may be that one extractor but they aren't real expensive. It doesn't happen very often and we can live with it but it was a change in the way the gun worked.
