More snark? Cmon. You tried to discredit by pointing out that OKOCA was formed after 1733 was signed, implying that we had nothing to do with that and we jumped on some bandwagon. I only brought that history up to educate you that your perception was inaccurate.

Actually, it's pretty damn amazing when that many people participate in a Facebook page about such a niche issue as open carry, and that nearly all of them were Oklahoma gun owners. Especially in such a short amount of time. Especially when you consider that a large percentage of Oklahoma gun owners don't do Facebook. Social media really showed its ability to effect positive change.

I don't own the patent on snark here Bryan.

Yes, 600 folks in a short time is actually pretty good.

So c'mon, tell me. How many official members does OKOCA have? Have you been able to transform that success on FB to a real, active Association, with a large membership?

Not sure. Hrdware handles memberships. Probably fewer than 100 have paid memberships. I can tell you that every time we have a get together or meeting in different parts of the State, between one and two dozen participate. I can tell you that we have almost 1900 people on our FB page. Honestly, we haven't been pushing memberships. We do things and people comment and participate. When people have experiences with OC, we discuss what was good and what could have gone better as appropriate. Mostly, we answer questions. We compare notes with more experienced open carriers in other states on our forum. We advocate for respectful dialogue with those who don't get it. We learn which businesses we are assured to not be hassled, and we reward those businesses with more business. Personally, I'm buying more diesel from Loves than I ever have because of their policy on lawful carry in their stores.

I'm starting to realize that you are only seeing one small part of what we are doing, and that may color your perception. We aren't sitting around all day harassing store managers.

Perhaps, and I hope that's true.

I'm out for the night. Thanks for the entertainment (and serious discussion).

Yeah, I need to go too. Maybe we should meet some evening at Beverly's? What part of the metro are you in? Promise not to brandish a weapon in your general direction.

Good afternoon. We have to have a no weapons policy as guests can consume alcohol on preemies and have had many guests voice their concern for this. I understand your feelings, we have a security patrol the parking lot at all hours to keep our guests safe. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Wait a minute, so throwing back body shots off of "preemies" is ok but you can't OC?
