I had a similar experience at the Bass Pro a while back. I got a heck of a deal by cashing in points, but the experience was terrible. One of the THREE employees required to complete their process left for break when they were halfway through their process.

They also taped my box shut before I could have it. This tape cannot be removed without damaging the box. Essentially, they wasted over an hour of my time, then damaged the product before relinquishing it to me.

On the plus side, the DiamondBack Sidekick is a great revolver. Also, the frame is basically the same as the Ruger Wrangler and the Heritage. Mine is currently wearing a set of aftermarket wooden Ruger Wrangler grips.

I’ve made one firearm purchase from them and had the same experience. The only reason I even make the purchase was because I had a hefty gift card so it was almost a free purchase for me. I have zero desire to ever purchase another firearm from them and unless I get another hefty gift card like I had and want nothing else, I never will.

Bought one at Academy quite a few years ago.
I'm always a 3 day delay(have been for 30+ years) so when It comes back "delay" they always act like I am robbing the store!
After they calm down they tell me I can come back next week.
It's really not worth the hassle. At least 2A, Dongs, BANG or other gunshops know the process and don't freak out.

Here, but occasionally There.
Atwoods will walk the new purchase to your vehicle even though you have a fully loaded one hanging off your hip. Wish we could go back to the way it was in the movie 'Highwaymen' where you just rattle off your list of needs with ammo for each.

I had to wait in the Bass Pro parking lot to make a purchase almost 20 minutes one time because I left home early to make a stop on the way to meet an OSA member that did not take a long as I planned. He was early also, so all worked out well. I like smooth easy transactions.

Yup. Big box stores are annoying to buy guns from. Cabelas, bass pro, academy, Atwoods, etc… I’ve had similar experiences in all of them. Takes forever… I prefer to buy from a real gun shop, but sometimes those box stores have deals to good pass up.

About the gun! Is it single action with swing out cylinder? Or double action?
