Do any FFL's take an SDA card by itself in our state? Instead of filling out the form.
You still have to fill out the 4473 if you have a carry license. As I understand it they just don’t have to call the ATF because you already have a background check because of the license

I have bought guns from academy and it is not that painful.
Inspect rifle and make sure serial numbers match on the rifle and bolt.
Fill out the paperwork or like stated type it on the computer.
1 guy reads it and calls it in and wait usually 5 minutes and approved.

He then escorts me to the checkout counter or calls for someone to do that.
I pay and walk out the door.
Isn't that funny that you can carry a loaded gun into the store, but you can't carry an empty gun out of the store, at Academy. I suppose Bass pro is the same.

The last couple of times I picked up a firearm at Cabela's I walked out with it from the gun counter after the BGC cleared.

Academy didn't let me do that 10-12 years ago from what I remember. Wal-mart definitely didn't let me walk out with one 15 or so years ago.
