Been thinkin' about an AR, got a Mini-14 instead.

Get off my lawn.
I prefer shooting the Mini-14 to the AR. It's just more comfortable. Plus, most comments you see about how bad the accuracy is come from people who have never owned one and are probably not even capable of shooting better than the 2-4 MOA they cry about the mini doing. Plus number two, their parts bin ARs probably aren't capable of accuracy better than the minis they're crying about.

In other news, I have 4 factory ruger 20 rounders for sale in the classifieds. Sold my mini, have no use for them!

Hickok45 did a great review of the Mini-14 in the last year or so. His conclusion is that the Mini-14 is "accurate enough". Nutnfancy agrees in his reviews.

This AR vs Mini debate is repeated often. The AR is regularly touted as being much more accurate, but that comparison is often made between $1500 ARs and $400 Minis. When the comparison is between low-end, unmodified ARs and comparably priced Minis, they tend to have much closer comparisons.

But, they're different rifles for different purposes and have very different origins. Both are fun, both can be highly modified, both can be made more accurate. Shoot and enjoy.

You poor bastards. You chose the wrong one

Ruger was "designed" 10 years after AR-15 ... on 30 year-old technology.

Cost - AR15
Reliability - AR15
Accuracy - AR15
Practicality - AR15
Customization - AR15
Caliber choices - AR15

Sorry, but Ruger offers nothing, but being "special; and muh momma says that I'm special!

My biggest problem with Mini-14s is that they're not $300 anymore. For $600+ I'll take an AR just for the cheaper/higher-quality mags, more abundance of good parts/accessories, and gunsmiths available that will screw with one without making things worse (the gas-block on a Mini-14 is not to be fooled with by someone who does not know what they're doing).
