Never cared for chicken fried steak. It's okay, just never liked it enough to order that over anything else. Guess I'm the black sheep in these parts.

I use CFS to gauge new restaurants. If they can't make a moderately decent CFS, I mentally dismiss the rest of their menu.

And Pace Picante Sauce is legit. I much prefer it over the red water served up at some Mexican restaurants.

I've probably mentioned it somewhere here already, and I'm not a normally one to sing praises of chain restaurants, but Texas Roadhouse has probably the best CFS I've ever had. It's large and nourishes your body with a week's worth of sodium, carbs, fat, and calories. Talk about efficiency!!!

I'll have to try the CFS there. The store in Stillwater has issues cooking my steak correctly. Finally quit ordering them there, getting pork chops instead.

I've very recently had Cheevers. It was good and all. Won't have it again though. I have a clear definition in mind of what chicken fry should be based on a very long and loving relationship with it. Any kind of spicy pepper flavor ain't part of it. I prefer it the "original" (meaning the "right") way, without the south of the boarder adulteration. I hate the Texican influence mucking up my favorite.

Pace sauce tastes like tomato paste with a butt ton of salt mixed with it, nothing more.
