Eureka Springs restaurant advice

The Mrs and I will be spending a couple days in Eureka Springs. Anybody have advice on good lunch and diner places. We're not commited to any one style of food. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Just got back from our 3rd trip to Eureka Springs. Great town. Take cash, most merchants downtown don't accept credit cards. Ok, food.....it's nearby, not in Eureka Springs but check out the chicken joint in Monte Ne, Ark. great fried chicken. The German/Bavarian place was pretty good.

The little catfish kitten at the top of the hill was probably some of the best catfish and shrimp I have had in several years. It is pricey, but it was well worth it.

Get dinner before 5:00. That crazy town closes way too early.

Myrtie Mae's, inside the Best Western Inn of the Ozarks, is one of my favorites. If you go, you need to get the Possum Pie for desert.

The absolute best food in Eureka, without a doubt, is Gaskin's Cabin out on 23. The best prime rib I've ever had, plus a blueberry-peach cobbler that will make your mouth water.

I used to go to church by Monte Ne Chicken. I haven't been down there in a while, but I'm not sure that it is what it used to be. They used to have an overflowing parking lot each Sunday afternoon. But if you're going to come as far as Rogers to eat, instead of staying in Eureka (if Gaskin's is closed I wouldn't blame you) then I can recommend a lot better places than Monte Ne.

Yeah that place is real good!

There is a place up on the largest hill there. An old large house. You can see it from all around. It had great steak. Pricey like everything in that kind of town.

www.ermilios.com/ is an excellent Italian eatery. There is another on the west side of town that is always so busy we pass. Don't remember the name.
