Benefit of my job is that I'm alone without anyone to bother me. See the country, sleep in nice hotels every night. Make decent coin. Home weekly to see the wife unit. I'd shoot myself if I had to work in a box of walls.

That is the other thing. It is easy going here. If they would call and tell someone they are going to be a little late, it would be fine. They just show up late and don't call untill they are almost here. By that time, it is too late.

How well do they pay? An easy Saturday hanging out with nice people in an office sounds nice, Much better than lonely nights in a hotel room by yourself with cable tv. Sounds like some people need perspective.

While I generally agree that people go to the "I don't feel well" card too often and stay home for every headache or gas pain...I do hate it when someone who is clearly sick insists on coming into the office. I hear them coughing and hacking all day and the next thing you know, half the office is sick. If you are really sick, you owe it to everyone else to stay home.

I show up to work even when I'm not feeling well, except when I have a fever and/or I'm contagious. I racked up enough use or lose throughout 2012 by showing up to work every day and even volunteering on a few holidays to take a 17-day vacation at the end of the year. I think I may be the reason they implemented a quarterly use or lose system for 2013. I figure if I'm not a health concern to others, I can either feel like crap sitting at home and use up sick leave or I can feel like crap sitting at work getting paid normal hours. It's an office job, so my attitude might be different if I was required to do any physical work.

In my job, we have to show up 15 minutes early for turn over, but showing up on time is no problem considering I have to show up at 11:45 PM and have been awake since 4 PM.

That's how I am. I'm getting to see the globe and not be tied into a time clock. But at the same time I was up this morning at 3am to be at the airport by 4 and I didn't get to bed last night until after 11. The hours are long the hours are hard but Damn if I don't have anyone looking over my shoulder!
