Mexican market thrives. You have no idea how many times the Mexicans driving by would see my 90' Toy 4WD ext cab in the drive (no for sale sign at all on it) and they would ask if I wanted to sell it. One fellow few years younger than me and has had a lawn service business for years in NW OKC actually stopped one time and knocked on the door to ask if it was for sale.My Toyota Tacoma SR5 V6 just went over 290,000 miles. Sounds like I might have to replace a fan belt. Its sqeaking a little. First maintenance other than 3000 mile oil changes. Its not a street truck.
The guy might get his price. My son got into a bidding war for his 98 Tacoma, when he listed it on craigs list a couple of years ago. Finally sold it for 2K more than he listed it for to a local guy in Ft Worth. Guy paid cash, got the title, and Chris asked him what was the big deal. He said he was leaving right away for the Mexican border. A broker would give him around 10K for it. They used them for APC's and weapons platforms all over the world. This broker sells them to unknown people in South America. Word has got out, so prices are up.
