I have a question or two, not that it makes any difference but I'm sure someone here knows the answer.

Has Oklahoma ever allowed open carry, with or without a permit, since it was created in 1907?
If so, what are the reasons and circumstances that caused OC to be outlawed?

I can't say for sure, but I think it was legal in that before the law went into effect making it illegal there was no law prohibiting it.

A similar question, does anyone know when it became illegal?

What with another mass shooting... this one out in California today [at leat five killed at a Korean school], I just can't see unlicensed open carry passing here in Oklahoma... especially in the next 5 yrs.

and that event like other tragic events shows why the "gun free zone" is a myth. Active shooters always shoot up places were they will not encounter resistance.
Add that to the email or phone call your making to your Senate and House member

**PHONE CALLS NEEDED**
The Senate took half of last week off for spring break, and they want to take next Thursday off as well. If they do, then the other two good house bills, HB2416 regarding riot prevention/accidental exposure and HB2988 which expands the castle doctrine, will not have a hearing.

Please make two phone calls. Call the President Pro Temp, Senator Brian Bingman and politely tell him to make sure that the Public Safety Committee holds another meeting so these two critical bills have a chance to be heard in committee. His phone number is 405-521-5528 and his email address is [email protected].

Then call the Chairman of the Public Safety Committee, Senator Barrington, and politely tell him if to give HB2416 and HB2988 a hearing if he has another committee meeting. His phone number is 405-521-5563 and his email address is [email protected].

Here you go folks.
Those of you that were asking who to call.
These two will make a nice start.
Then your own congressmen.
Be polite, but let them know you want results.
