I can't stand them being vulgar and cussing in front of women. I have no problem telling someone to watch their mouths. They may not respect the women in their lives, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna hear it.

Same here for the "In public period crowd", not just in front of women. I can cuss enough to peel the paint off a church, but I only do it in very select company and I'm mindful of who is around. One of the guys I travel with constantly drops the F-bomb everywhere; airport, restaurant, etc...drives me nuts.

Several times I've called men down for using vulgar language in front of women. Couple of times I've asked them to leave the store and not return.

:lmfao:

You know, I helped a dear friend teach a friend of hers to shoot. This friend of my dear friend was uber-religious. A really, really sweet, naive, UBER-RELIGIOUS lady. I made it through Lesson 1 okay ... :woot: Lesson 2 also, I think ... :woot::woot:

Lesson 3, however, was a bust. Some guy was rapid-firing while I was trying to tell her something. I swear he was watching me try to talk because I'd stop for a minute to let him finish ... then when I opened my mouth he'd start back up again!! :finger: About the fourth or fifth time I tried to say something and he started shooting like he was cornered by lions, I ... very quietly, under my breath, said "GDit!! MF'r ... WHAT is HIS deal??" :lookaroun OK, well, I DIDN'T think she could hear me ... she hadn't heard anything else I'd said for the previous 15 minutes ... :eek2:

Bless her heart ... She just smiled and said "Yeah, our darling friend here warned me that might happen. But I gotta tell you ... You cuss so effortlessly that it's hard to be offended." :rotflmao: God bless her little heart ... :pms2::pms2:

I'm a loudmouth so what? I don't curse in public but I have a hard time hearing, most people with hearing problems speak loudly.

No, no, no ... YOU are not the kind of loudmouth JB is talking about ... He's talking about the OBNOXIOUS kind ... You know ... well, you might not since you are hard of hearing ... GC is too ... He can NEVER hear the things I hear going on in a restaurant ... It's embarrassing sometimes ... If people only knew what all those tables of strangers actually thought of them when they are trying so hard to be noticed because they are "important" ...

The only time I've ever had to correct someone in a restaurant was some 60's ish woman who was verbally assaulting her late 30's ish daughter in the booth behind me. She was going on and on and on and cussing and demeaning her daughter saying all sorts of vile hateful things and at a very loud volume that completely distracted me and the person I was with and in fact made us both very uncomfortable.

I finally had enough and turned around and said calmly, "Mam'n, could you please keep it down"? Then she started cussing ME out and telling me to mind my own business. I politely and calmly told her that I was trying to do just that, but she was being so loud that it was disturbing me and everyone in the area. Once she noticed other people who had stopped eating and were staring over at her, she decided to shutup like she should have in the first place and just eat.

Some people...

Hey, you watch yo mouth! They be laydeez 'n s**t in here, G*******t! :D

I'm well known in the office for my four-letter vocabulary, but I am very careful about it when I'm dealing with "customers" and when I'm out in public--particularly around children. (Womenfolk can fend for themselves. I'm liberated that way. ;) ) I was always careful around kids, but hearing a (very mild) epithet come back to me from the mouth of my niece as we were driving down the street kind of drove it home; my profane vocabulary is one of those bad habits that I really don't want them emulating...
