For a shoulder, Dr. Conway at OSSO. He was referred to me by a few different physical therapists after a different surgeon with a different group screwed me up with the initial surgery. It made sense to take their recommendations since they see a lot of the finished product of various doctors.

Lot's of replies and I really appreciate it fellas !

I ended up going to my regular MD yesterday and told him that I wanted a referral for Dr. James L. Bond......with my Medicare and BCBS 'F' supplement I could have just called and made the appointment on my own without a referral but my 73 year old doc of over twenty years really gets his bloomers in a bunch (understandably) if I go around him and do things on my own without keeping him in the loop.

As a 'new patient' I would imagine that it'll be a week or more till I get my first visit, then several days to get in for a xray or MRI and then several more days to go back and see he him to discuss the results of the tests and figure out a treatment plan.

I bet not many folks can say that they have James Bond for a doc. :)

Around here, it's usually at least a week before the specialists office even calls to make an appointment, then you're lucky if you get an appointment within a month, two or three months is not unusual. Probably depends on how urgent/severe your issue is though. My wife waited for two weeks to get an MRI scheduled, when they did finally call it was scheduled for about a month out.

Yeah, I was gonna say if you think you're gonna be seen and get an MRI and seen again all in the span of 2-3 weeks, that's pretty phenomenal, IMO.
