I got stopped by an OHP trooper in Shawnee at I-40 and Hwy 18 back about two months ago. His Initials are T.T., for those in the know.

I was headed East on the access road on the North side of I-40, where there is a stop light at Hwy 18.

The trooper was turning West off of 18 onto the access road. He pulls a U turn right there in the middle of traffic, and gets me just as I turn south on 18.

It's broad day light on a Saturday afternoon, and it's my old ass, my wife, and three children in the Suburban.

He we walks up and asks for my license and insurance verification, and doesn't even offer to tell me why I was stopped.

After a while I ask him why he stopped me. No response. I ask again while he is looking at my license, and he finally tells me he stopped me for failure to pay taxes.

I'm like, what! He says failure to pay taxes, because your tag is expired. Then I remembered it expired the last day of April. This was the 2nd of May!

I say you have got to be kidding , stopping me for a tag that expired two days ago. I have been driving for 35 years in Oklahoma, and I have never heard of anyone getting stopped for a tag less than 30 days expired.

He just looks at me kinda funny, and says you don't pay a penalty until it is over thirty days expired, but it's still a violation.

I don't understand why he thought we were such a threat, he must have had a really slow day, and was bored.

Anyway, after all that he just writes me a warning for the tag!

Go figure!

Tulsa's channel 6/KOTV did a piece on tonights 10pm news about the OHP cracking down on dealer paper plate license tags that were expired. The camera crew and interviewer followed the officer around while she was pulling people over and even interviewed some of the people about why they didnt have their tags up to date. In a shopping parking lot they found 3 that were months old, one had even altered theirs. Some funny excuses for why they didnt have them up to date. The usual.

Petite? Brunette? Really pretty?? If it was, I know her. I'm more afraid of her than any 10 of those strapping big o' boys that call themselves Troopers. If you piss her off you'd better hope that her choking you is all that happens. She is an absolute RIOT!

I saw a teaser here on one of the news stations and told GC "Oh, look ... She's on TV again!" but we couldn't remember what station it was (OldTimers). We are more interested in her "outtakes" anyway. LOL Besides, I'll run into her at the credit union again one of these days and get the straight skinny ...

An expired plate stop usually results in no insurance and often driving under suspension. I always stop ALL expired tags or out of date paper tags.

Hi,

Does having a SDA license in any way affect this? I guess from now on I need to have separate bag for ammo!

Thanks,

Alan

This was a joke.

I am clarifying because I'm not sure if you're serious or simply joining the joke and committing the OSA offense of failing to use a smilie when applying satire.:police2:
