I wasn't crying, I told the story so I could see if it made sense to anyone here why he would go to the trouble to stop me for the tag, and then write a warning, which to me made no sense. I am not in law enforcement, and don't keep up with the whys and hows of OHP policy.

What was stated before you came along with your wisdom, let me understand that it was because expired tags usually result in other violations.

If you wanted to say, "Quit crying about being stopped when you break the law.", then you should of just said so, instead of stating what had already been said.

That's good because I can't even keep up with the whys and hows of OHP policy and I sleep with them! That place is a gigantic cluster ...

You are welcome anytime, I like posts crying about being inconvenienced because you broke the law, feel free to feel like you or the OP should be granted exceptions because you're better than everyone else anytime, then come whine about it and I'll be mister obvious anytime.

To be fair to the OP, I didn't think he was really complaining about getting the expired tag ticket as much as he was about getting a second ticket for pretty much the same offense. I can honestly say, before this thread started, I never knew they were two separate offenses. Kinda like not paying your taxes by April 15th and getting one penalty for not paying your taxes and another for not paying them by the 15th.

To be fair to the OP, I didn't think he was really complaining about getting the expired tag ticket as much as he was about getting a second ticket for pretty much the same offense. I can honestly say, before this thread started, I never knew they were two separate offenses. And you can thank your state reps for that ... The Trooper I know doesn't pile on like that unless someone asks him to. But plenty of DAs will pile on similar charges. Kinda like throwing **** at a wall and seeing what sticks.

Again, thank you Oklahoma State Legislature ... I'm not saying elcaBob did this but I'm hear to tell you that the vast majority of Troopers will only write as much paper as you "ask" them to. Be quiet ... Nobody every talked themselves into a ticket by saying "Yessir, no sir, it won't happen again sir."

That said, if folks truly think they've been heinously aggrieved, there are avenues to address that -- the side of the road, however, is rarely the time and the place.

I never expected to be granted an exception, I just didn't understand the logic behind the stop.

I break down and cry everytime I'm stopped. Helps me get out of tickets all the time.
