From the article:

"And the conversation got heated when he tried to argue that a state issued paper inside the car was all he needed. Randolph said that's illegal and there must be a tag on the car, that law enforcement can see."

Yep, that's my girl!! ROFLMAO! She could care less if the cameras are rolling because she's not gonna do anything wrong, but she is definitely a "take no prisoners" kinda gal. Her and GC together are a hoot! I just kinda stand there and watch the show. ;)

I have a few stories, you would get a hoot from. Nope doesn't have anything to do with this post, but the Okc FGST and BS thread is too far down.

My oldest son just finished OHP's Cadet Lawman Academy for kids going into their senior year of high school. Trooper Randolph was one of his Platoon leaders. They bonded almost from the start and still keep in contact. Seems like a great person, she carries the attitude that I'll be nice until it's time to not be nice, and you don't want to be around when she's not nice!

Oh, but that's when it starts getting entertaining! (Unless you are the one who pissed her off! LOL) I watched her in the Tax Commission parking lot dealing with a kid who was vandalizing cars. I bet he's still having nightmares about white women! ROFLMAO!! He looked absolutely relieved to see his Mama, and she was screaming at him what she was gonna do to him when the Po-Pos weren't around to see ... I'd have given anything if there'd been cameras rolling!

I got stopped by an OHP trooper in Shawnee at I-40 and Hwy 18 back about two months ago. His Initials are T.T., for those in the know.

I was headed East on the access road on the North side of I-40, where there is a stop light at Hwy 18.

The trooper was turning West off of 18 onto the access road. He pulls a U turn right there in the middle of traffic, and gets me just as I turn south on 18.

It's broad day light on a Saturday afternoon, and it's my old ass, my wife, and three children in the Suburban.

He we walks up and asks for my license and insurance verification, and doesn't even offer to tell me why I was stopped.

After a while I ask him why he stopped me. No response. I ask again while he is looking at my license, and he finally tells me he stopped me for failure to pay taxes.

I'm like, what! He says failure to pay taxes, because your tag is expired. Then I remembered it expired the last day of April. This was the 2nd of May!

I say you have got to be kidding , stopping me for a tag that expired two days ago. I have been driving for 35 years in Oklahoma, and I have never heard of anyone getting stopped for a tag less than 30 days expired.

He just looks at me kinda funny, and says you don't pay a penalty until it is over thirty days expired, but it's still a violation.

I don't understand why he thought we were such a threat, he must have had a really slow day, and was bored.

Anyway, after all that he just writes me a warning for the tag!

Go figure!

There is no 1 month grace period for annual registration, at 12:01 am on the beginning of the new month if your annual sticker is out of date you are in violation of state law. There is a 30 day penalty free grace period for late payment of your registration.

As someone else posted an expired tag frequently means failure to insure or expired/suspended license because both of those are required to tag your vehicle.

Thank you Mr. Obvious for stating what has already been stated.

You are welcome anytime, I like posts crying about being inconvenienced because you broke the law, feel free to feel like you or the OP should be granted exceptions because you're better than everyone else anytime, then come whine about it and I'll be mister obvious anytime.

BTW cool story Bro.

I wasn't crying, I told the story so I could see if it made sense to anyone here why he would go to the trouble to stop me for the tag, and then write a warning, which to me made no sense. I am not in law enforcement, and don't keep up with the whys and hows of OHP policy.

I never expected to be granted an exception, I just didn't understand the logic behind the stop.

What was stated before you came along with your wisdom, let me understand that it was because expired tags usually result in other violations.

If you wanted to say, "Quit crying about being stopped when you break the law.", then you should of just said so, instead of stating what had already been said.

I don't think I am better than everyone else, but obviously you believe you are, based on your reply.

Happy 4th of July!
