In 1994-1998 the wife and I drove multiple cars but the 2 we drove the most would have cost us $1260 a year for each one.
I do not drive that much now.
My 47 dodge and the 57 chevy odometers do not work.
A lot of 90's cars had electric speedometers and you could pull a fuse and kill that.
You can also program some computer controlled cars electronic speedometers to read different mileage.

They will require us to install some sort of gps gizmoe in our cars and they will track our mileage from space. Then they will send you a bill.
Most of the newer cars already have it . Navigation !!!!
The speedometer and odometer only work half the time on my 98 TJ Jeep, guess I will be ok. haha
It’s already here. I pulled into a Ford dealership in Butte Montana yesterday, went in to get some work done. Once they had the VIN, the onboard computer connected to their computer via tge internet and gave a complete diagnosis of the vehicle without ever having to install an OBI2 reader.
I can assure you the government has that information already.
Didn’t calculate it, but we put 5600 miles on this truck in July alone.
