I see this listed sometimes when people sell their AR's. Is there any real significance or any reason I should care? (I know about the AWB.)

I have seen guys mention that their AWB rifle is a ban era, and some call them pre-ban era. The only thing that I can think of that truly makes a difference is for those that live in states that still have an AWB that mirrors the Federal one of 1994--like in NY. For those of us in free states I don't see any reason to have a pre-94 manufactured AR unless there is something about it you want or for collecting purposes. Have you seen the prices guys will pay for pre-94 receivered guns so that they can have a bayonet lug and collapsible stock? Crazy but that is what they have to do. I am also in the thought that if there is anther ban, it will not matter what year the gun was manufactured because they will close all the loop-holes this time around.
