I voted quality. If I could afford both I would vote for both, but I would much rather have my 340pd, hk USP and p239 than 2 glocks, 2 sp101s, and a RIA. I have a 500a because I have always owned one and never had an issue even after a day and 500 rounds through it, while other more expensive guns being run by guys started to fail. RR makes a great AR platform and eotechs and aimpoints can take a beating so its worth the extra investment there.

You don't have to spend buku money to get a fine weapon in this day and age. I don't see a fancy $2000 Benelli doing anything that my 870 can't, and I would definately purchase a RIA Tactical over a Wilson 1911 anyday because I can buy alot of ammo with that extra $2500, and i don't feel that the extra expense is worth it for something that does the same job.

I probably have to clarify what a some in this thread talk about. This post is pretty good explaining the mechanics of owning a gun.

There are a lot of really reliable rack guns out there, but they do have a little history of some working good, some having problems.

You don't care what the wood looks like, you want it to go boom every time you fire the trigger. As it should.

I played a game of golf awhile back during a company function. My team captain had been on the major tour, but wasn't quite good enough to stay in the game. He had pings, I had rental clubs from the club house. According to the tour rules, all have to have the same club head weight, etc to stay within the rules.

When I asked him why he payed for Pings, vs Mcgreggors from walmart, his reply was, that one could drive to OKC from Ponca in a luxury car or a volkswagon. Both would get you there, but which would you rather drive?

If one were in a house with two guns laying on the kitchen table, one being a Kimber/wilson, and the other being a hipoint, and bubba was coming in the door, which gun would you grab first?

Quality! I have too much invested in my time and money for hunting trips to have a piece of crap gun malfunction on me. So I tend to take along a quality primary and quality secondary.
