Question about homemade ARs?

Let's say the idiots get their way and pass a ban on ARs, what comes of all the homemade ARs and AKs? No serials to say when it was made so i'm just a little curious.

Maybe I should clarify a bit. I meant homemade as in machined completely from scratch, not just a home assembly.

I know a guy that has just about finished machining 5 AR's, totally from a block of aluminum.

Highly unlikely that any ban would require you to turn it in. And if such events occurred, "Sorry, I sold that gun a couple of months ago when I thought this might happen."

I didn't think you could legally make a firearm without filing a Form 1 with the ATF.
