What is an OSA member? Someone who contributes monetarily to this site? I'm kind of new here, but this policy you discuss seems so "holier than thou"-ish.

I haven't used the classifieds here, but why would there be restrictions against asking market value for items in this website's classifieds?

By "OSA member" I mean one of our fellow okshooters users.

My understanding is that we can offer to sell items at whatever price we have the nerve to ask. Ridicule may come you way if your pricing is unreasonable, but I'm not aware of any policy restricting asking prices. I haven't been here too long, but that is my understanding.

I was trying to point out that while many are criticizing users for attempting to "gouge" other forum members - it goes both ways. Others see reduced "OSA prices" as an opportunity to turn a quick profit.

Clearly I don't bear a grudge for my experience. Otherwise, I would have disclosed more specific details. I listed what I believed to be a great price, then agreed to accept a lesser amount. This was done out of a sense of community. I learned that I was misguided.

There are many great people on this site. As with any group, there are others who fall short.

It is just supply and demand, and we have seen this before. Back in '92 or '93 I bought an SKS and an AK47. The shop where I bought them had hundreds of them. A buddy told me I got ripped off for giving $125 for the SKS and $150 for the AK. The next year the ban took effect, I didn't even hear a word about it until it was too late (there was no internet) and didn't have an opportunity to stock up. I saw the prices go up overnight into the $900-$1000 range. Was that gouging? Market price is just what a seller is willing to let it go for and a buyer is willing to pay. It is understandable to be upset because there isn't the accessibility to his sport that we normally enjoy, but you can't blame the seller for the market price.

We're living in a unique moment in time where the "retail" price of many goods is far below that of its market value. If you get upset over situations like this, it must not take much at all to tick you off. Prozac may help.

Well since you don't know me you might want to back of the personal comments. Sheesh
Oh and thanks for the lesson...I think?
